JIMMY C. HAMILTON
Jimmy Hamilton is the lead singer, keyboard
player for the 1980's group known as Prime Time, formerly known as
the Sai Whatt Band. The band recorded for The Total Experience
Record Label. The band’s biggest hit was a mid-tempo song titled
“I Owe It To Myself,” this song made its way to number 21 on
Billboard’s R&B chart in the fall of 1984. Jimmy’s label mates the
Gap Band on their Gap Band VII LP later covered this song.
Other singles by Prime Time were the disco like “Love
Talk” and “Give it to the beat.” Both of these songs became
post-release favorites of their dance/funk fans. Other highlights off
of the same LP were “Can’t Get You Off My Mind” and “Let’s Talk It
Over” which both have an intimate rich and full feel to them.
Jimmy also appears on releases by his Total Experience
label mates, to which he wrote, and produced the hit “Guilty” LP for
Yarborough & Peoples. This album is listed as the best album ever
recorded by the duo. Jimmy wrote and produced various tunes such as
“I’m Ready,” “I Can’t Live Without Your Love, ” “You Told Me That” and “I’m
All The Way Yours" for the Gap Band. Jimmy also wrote and
produced songs for Klique, Pennye Ford, Prime Time, and
Ganiyu Gee Bello
a Capitol Record Artist. Jimmy’s two Prime Time
albums are “Flying High” and “Confess it baby.”
Jimmy
is currently writing new material and performing locally with his “Sai
Whatt Band.

TEDDY IVORY RABB
Teddy Rabb is the 1970’s lead singer,
keyboardist, writer, and composer of the 1970’s RCA (Fantasy)
recording group known as “Hell-Storm.” Teddy Rabb is a native of
Watts California. He graduated from Jordan High School in Watts,
California.
Rabb’s professional career began in 1968. He formed
the band “Hell-Storm,” which caught the ear of the well-known producer
Harvey Fugua of the “Moonglows.” Fugua recognized Hell-Storm’s
potential, and in turn facilitated Rabb’s record deal with RCA.
After
leaving Fantasy Records, Rabb worked with producers Miles Grayson
(Respect Music), James Broughton (Virg Records), and Lonnie Simmons
of the Total Experience Records family. With these producers, Rabb
recorded and wrote numerous songs. He wrote or collaborated on such songs
as “Can We Talk” for Will King, “I Owe It To Myself”
for Prime Time and the Gap Band, then finally “Who Is She”
for Yarbrough & Peoples.
